This battery delivers as promised. I get about 8 1/2 hours out of it on a charge, however the packaging did not include instructions on "conditioning" the battery. Luckily these amazon.com reviews explained the charge/discharge/charge cycle you should perform upon receiving this battery... Thanks reviewers!

When I read these reviews I was skeptical - how could it really last this long? but it is TRUE! After the first charge it lasted 5 hrs, after the 2nd even longer. Also, as others have said, the size is daunting until you notice having the keyboard tilted forward actually is an advantage. This was an EXCELLENT investment!

this battery makes my aspire almost perfect. the battery lasts so long that i only need to charge once a week! the little original battery is pitiful. now i can go anywhere with the aspire, and not worry about carrying the charger. the only downside is the size. its a bit of a monster.

Acer should have included this battery with the laptop as standard. This is a honking monster the way it's shaped, but you get over that in 5 minutes. Follow the directions and give it a full charge. Then burn it down completely, re do again.
I'm averaging about 5.5 to 6 hours per charge having used the battery a lot the first two weeks. It does make your netbook a little heavier, but not much. And given the price cut from what was originally $120, this is a really good bargain for your money. You're getting a 9 cell for the price of 6 cell. Remember, 6 cells only give about 3-4 hours of juice at best.
The shape of the battery does prop the back of your netbook up a little bit, but it seems to work better on my wrists that way. I know, it's counterintuitive, flat should be less strain. But the angle does improve usability.
